Pretty picture: Cattleya aclandiae
Hmmph. Cattleyas think they're so pretty.
In this case, actually, I can kinda see it. It may be that I only like this one because it's different -- most of the catts and their relatives that I run into are frillier and more monochromatic than this.
Hey, plants don't think about being pretty, only about procreation, and their "looks" are about attracting the right pollinating visitors for that purpose. of course you know this, and the lead in was poetic illusion. I'm a new follower, a gardener, and plant enthusiast and I appreciate your site.
I agree. I'm not a big fan of the frilly, Iris-looking Catts. But I like this one and some of the miniatures.
