The cold water part might be the reason but the weather around us probably freezes the poor thing anyways. It has 3 new leaves one that recently started so I must be doing something right. But, The first leaves that startedBarbaranoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2481706068105246695.post-30891382532226838692010-02-25T11:07:32.041-08:002010-02-25T11:07:32.041-08:00Just throw the thing in a bin and only buy healthy...Just throw the thing in a bin and only buy healthy plants from now on AbbyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2481706068105246695.post-54166423364672803752010-02-25T10:07:04.978-08:002010-02-25T10:07:04.978-08:00You're sure it's not just something simple...You're sure it's not just something simple, like bruises from the traveling from the nursery to the store to the home?Lizahttp://goodtogrow.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2481706068105246695.post-61547130140608487042010-02-25T08:54:57.880-08:002010-02-25T08:54:57.880-08:00My initial guess was some combination of mechanica...My initial guess was some combination of mechanical damage (from shipping or wind, maybe) combined with cold damage, though that should have stopped once the plant got to the house. I also thought maybe dry or cold air might be causing the margin/tip burn.

Had not considered earwigs, though if that's something they can do, then maybe that's a factor in what's going on too.mr_subjunctivehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14113199755474482747noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2481706068105246695.post-14580148426424372412010-02-25T06:00:07.729-08:002010-02-25T06:00:07.729-08:00The first thing that came to my mind at the sight ...The first thing that came to my mind at the sight of the holes was "Bored cat damage".Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04682634981215906684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2481706068105246695.post-68817155576248291172010-02-25T04:43:23.982-08:002010-02-25T04:43:23.982-08:00I had similar "holes" - they were actual...I had similar "holes" - they were actually chew marks from earwigs. I know there are no bugs seen, but earwigs are nocturnal and can live in the soil.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2481706068105246695.post-31958456576309954602010-02-25T04:27:24.249-08:002010-02-25T04:27:24.249-08:00I'm really not sure, but what the heck, I'...I'm really not sure, but what the heck, I'll venture a guess. Or two. Or three. My first thought is that this plant has been given too much fertilizer. My second is that it's a combination of things like dry air, over-watering, under-watering and too much sun. And my final two cents worth of opinion is that the plant is being watered with very cold water instead of water that has Plowing Through Life (Martha)https://www.blogger.com/profile/06547318824997712369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2481706068105246695.post-46861879739514795612010-02-25T04:05:59.558-08:002010-02-25T04:05:59.558-08:00OK... wild guess... New leaves should come in and be all right.

Maybe.

hell, I don't know...Claudehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04568424354642247198noreply@blogger.com
