My coworker...Cane Begonia's where it's at!

My coworkers got Rieger Begonias for mothers' day or whatnot--they all rotted at the base within weeks. They're tricky and not worthwhile. I think most are icky, too--except for some Rexes and canes. Basically, the ones you don't grow for the flowers. They make me happy. :DKenneth Moorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11619410362453458358noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2481706068105246695.post-4572103067870667022009-11-15T06:53:22.563-08:002009-11-15T06:53:22.563-08:00Not a fan because they didn't do especially we...Not a fan because they didn't do especially well in the greenhouse: the leaves tended to mildew, and the flowers got gray, burnt edges to the petals sometimes, and flowers would drop to the table and begin to rot if nobody picked them off in time. It's not that they're not pretty, they're just (like most Begonias) more trouble than I think they're worth.mr_subjunctivehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14113199755474482747noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2481706068105246695.post-12040870801400718092009-11-15T04:07:02.593-08:002009-11-15T04:07:02.593-08:00Thanks for the cheery photo on this dark, grey day...Thanks for the cheery photo on this dark, grey day!
