I mentioned it here: http://water-roots.blogspot.com/2010/05/and-still-more-new-perennials-will-it.html And now that the liliums are blooming, the Plowing Through Life (Martha)https://www.blogger.com/profile/06547318824997712369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2481706068105246695.post-2109296193064107382010-06-15T10:31:00.112-07:002010-06-15T10:31:00.112-07:00Oh, lilies! I'm normally a fan of the spotted ones, but that might just make the list of "buy if you ever find it" anyway.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2481706068105246695.post-53686818549936272632010-06-15T04:08:14.001-07:002010-06-15T04:08:14.001-07:00I love liliums; they are my favourites in the gard...I love liliums; they are my favourites in the garden. The only problem with them is the red lily beetle. If you get these evil bugs in your garden, it's a battle trying to get rid of them. And they can strip a lilium of its leaves (and even destroy buds/flowers) within a few short days. I'm dealing with that problem right now with some of my liliums. And it's not much fun.

Plowing Through Life (Martha)https://www.blogger.com/profile/06547318824997712369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2481706068105246695.post-55984835493283856142010-06-14T18:07:56.191-07:002010-06-14T18:07:56.191-07:00Mr_S,

I just love that there are so many blooms on a single stalk! There's a farm (http://www.earthboundgardens.com/index.html) about a 3 hr drive away that I've been dying to visit -- nothing but lilies there and apparently you can smell them long before you get there.

Nice pics, Mr. S!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2481706068105246695.post-89913922184182642202010-06-14T08:13:47.851-07:002010-06-14T08:13:47.851-07:00I keep wanting to like lilies, but never quite can...I keep wanting to like lilies, but never quite can. Something about the leaves -- such a strange pipe-cleaner like frizz of leaves and then suddenly flowers. And the super dwarf ones just freak me out -- dwarfed out of all sense of proportion with disturbingly large flowers like a skinny woman with HUGE fake boobs.Josephhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14433418903218452909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2481706068105246695.post-34381508242059084152010-06-14T06:16:04.371-07:002010-06-14T06:16:04.371-07:00I spent Saturday taking photos of lilies growing i...I spent Saturday taking photos of lilies growing in a friend's garden. When they are happily situated there is nothing like the show (well, until the next group of flowers bloom; you know what I mean!!!) You have so much variety and the colors...sigh! Lovely. Thanks.

NaninaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
