More forced spring flowers. As usual with pictures involving blue or violet flowers, the actual color is very different from this (darker, purpler).
I don't remember Irises being involved in these plantings last year; maybe our supplier has diversified. Or maybe (more likely) I'm just not remembering last year very well. It was a little traumatic in spots. Maybe I've blocked it from my memory.
Don't know how much prettier that can be in person, you captured the colors quite well.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember seeing forced Iris anywhere before. I was never able to get them to bloom at the normal times.
ReplyDeleteI love those little bulbous irises. Iris reticulata is the only species that comes immediately to mind, though I know that there are several others. They would look so pretty with those petite daffodils you posted earlier. I went out to two of my local nurseries today, but neither of them had any forced bulbs yet. Pity.

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the color, it's deep blueish with some purple.
