Bonus Afternoon Tulip, Just 'Cause I Like You

Test-drove the new camera this morning on the walk with Sheba. The verdict so far seems to be that yes, it does take better pictures, but the display shows them all as being much crappier than the old one did. So I'm more likely to get a good picture, but way less likely to know in advance whether any of the shots are any good.

  1. It even has water droplets. You must really like us! I hate those stupid displays. Every pic looks the same then you get it home and some are absolutely awful. The joys of a little screen...

    Thanks for the transport tips!

  2. Swank!

Zooming in while viewing a photo on your camera can help a bit, at least to determine how fuzzy it is or isn't. But I generally take 10-20 photos for any one that ends up on the blog. Just as a safeguard. Takes up a buttload of time to go through, however.

I've normally been taking about 4 or 5 pictures for each one that ends up on the blog (more if the display was showing that they were turning out badly). And yes, it's a major time-suck, especially with photo-intensive ongoing projects like the Yearbook Photos, or photo sets like last weeks pansy post.

  4. I do the zooming-in thing, too. Otherwise, it's impossible to tell if my silly camera has focused on the correct thing (and it seems to be getting worse and worse about focusing. Bah.)
