This picture is from the ex-job in I think October. We've seen Duranta once before here at PATSP, but I didn't know that's what it was then.
The first time around, what interested me about the plant was that the flowers smelled really good (like sugar cookies). I remember checking for a smell on this occasion, and being disappointed that there wasn't really any. If I remember correctly, they had it tagged as D. repens, but I think it's probably D. erecta.
My former employer still has the plant there as of last Saturday, but it's not flowering anymore, so it's not very likely to sell. I have no strong feelings about this either way. No idea what they're like as houseplants.

Hi.
You have an interesting blog!
Can you become my listerner , so i'll be your?
We have quite a lot growing here as hedges along public road, planted by the municipality. The tiny purple flowers are lovely. This looks like Duranta erecta.
I've never heard of it before, but I like it.
Apparently repens and erecta don't indicate significant differences (I mean, I can certainly tell the difference when I'm repens). Flowers that smell like sugar cookies would be neat!
Woo hoo! I've been wondering the name of that plant. I have a couple in my yard. Thanks :)
I think I have that plant in my backyard. I've never seen it flower, but the leaf shape and arrangement looks exactly like what we've got. It was never watered before I moved in in September so it's probably gonna take a long time before it flowers again.
By the way, how do you get your superscripts? Do you mess with the html? Or do you just have a preset shortcut key???
Mae:
Using angle brackets instead of square brackets, I just type [sup] and [/sup]. Doing footnotes is a bit more complicated, but I have a basic template saved in Word, that I just copy and paste into the new post.
Thanks!
