Ludisia discolor (sometimes also Ludisia discolor) is one of the plants called "jewel orchid;" I knew they bloomed, but I don't think I've ever actually seen it happen. I was caught completely off guard by the buds -- we have four at work, and all four are budding simultaneously. I'm looking forward to seeing what the flowers look like.

This is incredible - you write about ALL the plants I like! I have one of these, too, that got rather dry when I got too busy this fall, and is pouting but still alive. I don't expect a bloom anytime soon, though.
I have a couple cuttings from Toni earlier this summer that are limping along at home, but not really ready to commit to growing just yet. I don't care so much if they flower, but it'd be nice if the two of them together could have more than five leaves at a time.
