New plants

Reader generosity (thank you, Paul VA!) has gotten me one of the plants that's been on my want list for a long time, Euphorbia leuconeura.

He even sent a slightly smaller duplicate, just in case.

Not a lot to say about the plant yet; I only just got them last Thursday. The only thing that's really jumped out at me so far is that they're a lot prettier in person than I was expecting from the photos I've seen on-line. (The above photos included.) Some plants just don't photograph well.

But wait! There were even more bonuses! Agave potatorum 'Kissho Kan' and a duplicate:

I hadn't asked for this specifically, but I'm always happy to make the acquaintance of more Agaves (with the possible exception of A. bovicornuta, which is much too stabby for its own good), so this is also awesome.

Ooh, you're so lucky! I've never even seen one of those Euphorbias in person.

The Phytophactor just ordered a new plant using a bit of left-over funds: Ophioglossum pendulum. Should be a nice addition to our collection.

Beautiful plant, though, you rightly put it, there are some plants which are not photogenic very much like us. But I guess receiving it would have made you very happy!

Well, according to the rumor, they'll start shooting out seeds at some point, and the seeds are supposed to germinate easily, so perhaps I can send you seeds at some point.

The Phytophactor:

I'm glad I googled that. Not sure what plant I was thinking of, but the actual Ophioglossum pendulum is much more interesting.

I meant more that there are some perfectly lovely plants that I can't get a decent picture of. Like, I'm still trying to figure out how to photograph Anthuriums properly, for example.

I have that Euphorbia. It's a joy to grow. It does get big in a quickness, though. Mostly in the I-like-to-fan-out-so-give-me-my-personal-space way.

No seeds yet.
