A bit of a palate cleanser to follow the plant toxicity series. (Yes, I know I did something different yesterday: my palate still doesn't feel cleansed, okay?) In the next week or so, there should be some personal announcements from me that are going to necessitate some changing around of . . . you know, things, and so I don't feel like getting into another major post right away. Also I just finished a major post, which also makes me not feel like getting into another major post right away.
Anyway.
We've had Calatheas bloom at work before, though they've been different kinds of flowers in the past (stiff, orangish, on thicker stalks), and they don't happen very often. .jpg)
I tried to get a close-up picture, but none of them turned out particularly well.

Like the Guyz, I've never seen one of these blooming, so many thanks for showing this! It's actually lovely. As for your announcements, I hope I'm hearing wedding bells!!!
Congrats on the bloom! I have a Ctenanthe that just bloomed, but it's less to look at than your Calathea.
I like this even without the blooms. I might stop endless reading about perennials and add some indoor plants!
And, boy, do I feel like I'm coming in halfway through the movie. What will our hero announce next?

I have a "Freddie" Calathea concinna that has a white flower on it right now. This flower is green so it needs to be cut off, but it's early. Calathea's bloom around March-May. Just wait, flowers will Be there eventually
