I like to hold Gazania pictures in reserve for celebratory moments, but I kind of forgot to post one when the husband and I got married, or maybe I didn't have any new ones sitting around. I don't remember. In any case, I've been waiting for a reasonable occasion to post, and then I thought, well this is stupid, I can post a Gazania picture any time I want to, I don't have to wait for something to happen. So here it is. This is a variety called 'Kiss Rose' that I saw at a local home improvement store which shall remain nameless until they apologize to Amanda Thomsen.
It turns out to be really difficult to find Gazania cultivars that are any colors besides yellow and orange. Though I did find one such previously; it's just that all the pink/purple is in the form of stripes. 'Kiss Rose' is the first Gazania I've seen with solidly pink-purple petals.
For those of you who are worried: I do have a yellow Gazania picture in reserve, just in case something worthy of celebrating should happen.

Okay, getting kinda embarrassing to be the first to comment everyday ;)! Just means I love your blog! Having just met, can I just say a belated CONGRATS on your Nuptials (however long ago that was). Gazania's are a must have for me in the garden because of their amazing shades of blooms..they do require alot of dead-heading tho. Glad you didn't wait to share this pretty in pink!
Hmmm...I don't remember leaving a 'congratulations' comment for when you got married. I know I read about it, but did I leave a nice comment? In any case, congratulations just in case I didn't!
Oh yeah, and that's a very pretty picture!
I can't remember either if I posted congrats ( I seem to think I did, or maybe it was condolences over PRop 8 in California.) Either way, many many happy years together to you and your husband. And it's always a good time for a gazania photo. This one is lovely, my favourite colour in the gazanias.
