Pretty picture: Cattleya amethystoglossa

Still with the itching. Petroleum jelly is the most effective thing I've tried so far, though 1) it's still not that effective, and 2) it's not entirely comfortable by itself. At this point, my spirit is basically broken, w/r/t the itching, and I don't expect to find an actual fix for the problem.

So, on to the orchid. This is a nice one.

Two of the best creams out there for itchy skin/skin ailments: Go to your nearest health food store and get the DermaE Skinbiotics cream, OR if you have a Lush boutique near you, they make a lotion called Dream Cream that is the boomdiggity.

Menthol has specific action against itchy feelings though probably not on the cause.

I've been meaning to suggest this to you. Try olive oil for the itch - a cheap one will do. The way to do it is to rub it in gently about 5 to 10 minutes before you shower.

Try a small patch of skin first - whatever you can reach easily - I'm a very "allergic" sort of person, and this technique has been helpful to me.

I know this is nearly a month after you posted this on your blog, but I'm just starting to check my usual websites again after quite a few months of absence.

My recommendations for dry skin would be to use either coconut oil or raw shea butter. As someone with sensitive skin that is usually dried out during Wisconsin winters, these two have become life savers. Extra virgin coconut oil has the bonus of being antibacterial and antifungal.
