Man attempts to rob store with palm frond.
It didn't work.
The tree, apparently, had no comment for the press.

Is the plant an accomplice?

You'd think a Dracaena would be much more effective.
I'm thinking a yucca, or some of the spiny bromeliads, or of course a cactus. How about one of those nasty poisonous euphorbias?
Plant terrorism. The Division of Homeland Security should be knocking on my door any day now...
Har har har...hilarious... Another plant he could have considered is the Pachypodium lamerei (Madagascar Palm). Those things can cause considerable pain! Nasty...
And how about screw pines? I must have a couple dozen thorns embedded in my body in the 3 years I've been caring for them.
Well, I think the problem with a Pandanus is that you couldn't really trust it to stay on your side. Once those leaves start whipping around, it'd be as easy to get a face full of spines and scratches as it would be to give them to somebody else.
Plus you know they'd totally squeal on you if they got caught.
I'd lean toward using Agaves, myself, but I think they might be tough to use effectively. Maybe a single, very large leaf would do the trick, though, and would be handleable.
Or, you know, a knife or something.
